October is here and although it may not feel like it, Fall is in full swing. I’m Currently working on my NYFW recaps, but I wanted to take a step back and share some of my favorite trends from last fashion week that are going to be popular this upcoming fall/winter season!

If you didn’t already know the fashion calendar is 6 months ahead of the actual calendar, so the shows we just wrapped up were showcasing spring/summer designs for 2019.

SO, I wanted to recap some of my favorite fall and winter trends from February’s fashion week. Don’t think that you need thousands of dollars and designer goods to recreate these trends either; theres tons of affordable pieces I’ll link below! Many of these trends made their way on the runway again for the spring/summer season so they’re probably not going anywhere anytime soon!

Rust is going to be one of the major color this fall. Look for deeper hues of red and pink to be really on-trend. It’s the perfect color for shirts, dresses, pants or dusters/jackets!

Futurist trends of Sleek, silver and clear are making a big impression on the runways. As weird as far out as this trend seems, you really will be seeing a lot of it. My personal favorite is clear/iridescent rain jackets and umbrellas. I saw this trend ALL throughout fashion week, from the runway’s to the street styles on rainy days. I actually am super excited to see where this goes!

If you’re not familiar with this trend, where have you been doeeeee. Dad sneakers have been all the rage the past few years, and at first I was super questionable about them. I mean some of them literally look like orthopedic shoes, but they’re not going anywhere this fall/winter (probably due to their comfort level). One of the benefits of a clunky sneaker is that it’s extremely comfortable and you can literally pair them with just about anything and not feel like its weird. Shop my favorites below!

The bigger the sleeve, the better this season. Designers are going for all out puffy sleeves and intricate sleeve detailing, something I love! I feel like sleeve detailing instantly makes any outfit feel way more chic.

Blazers have made their come back for a while now and it just keeps getting better. Blazers are one of my favorite ways to dress up an outfit without looking like you tried to hard, which is why I opted for a blazer paired with shorts and booties for day 1 of fashion week. Blazers can be worn oversized as dresses and belted, or layered for the colder weather. If you’re feeling brave, opt for just a blazer buttoned up, with a drop necklace for a sleek and sexy look for a night out.

I was pleasantly surprised by the western/cowboy presence on the runways. The best part is the 80’s twist, which has been huge for a past few seasons, but now they’ve combined the two. Large shoulders, full denim looks, leather collars and details, belted waists, bow ties and cowboy boots are my favorite parts of this trend.

As I mentioned before, the 80’s influence on clothing and makeup is nothing new, but this season were going full force Austin Powers with even our shoes. White booties are EVERYWEHRE; look for slouchy, mid-calf and thin heeled boots.

You’ve probably seen it all over your feed already, The fiercest trend this fall/winter is animal print! Think snakeskin, cheetah, leopard and zebra! My 16 year old self (the same one that painted an entire wall in my room zebra print) is completely living for this trend!!

Herringbone, plaid and houndstooth are all the rage this fall/winter. This trend is simple and classic. An overcoat, top or even pants are easy ways to implement this trend in your wardrobe this season.

This season it’s all about making a statement with busy prints. This trend can be super intimidating at first, but once you try it out you’ll see that its actually super easy and fun. Fashion is all about expressing yourself and your style, and this trend really embraces that! Don’t be afraid to try it out busier prints and mixing them, shop my favorite printed pieces below!
