NEW YEAR ~ NEW GOALS
It is crazy to me that 2018 has come and gone already. Each new year, I make a bunch of resolutions and tell myself this year is the year i’m really going to make some changes, and then never actually go through with hardly any of them. But when I look back, it still feels like so much change has happened. That change is simply life. Life happens and it throws experiences and moments at us that shape and mold us into who we’re supposed to be.
This year I look back at 2018 and am definitely feeling like I still have so much that I said I would do and didn’t, so many goals I left unaccomplished, and so much potential left unmet. But so much has happened, that I never thought would.
This year was full of so many awesome high's, and definitely several lows. So many things have happened, and I feel like I’ve grown up a ton these last two years especially. The end of 2016/beginning of 2017 was huge for me, I moved to a new city and dove deeper into my interest in fashion. It was a year full of risks, taking chances and achieving the unexpected. However when I look back on this last year I am weighed down with the idea that maybe I was too comfortable or played it a bit too safe. This next year, I’d like to continue to get back to the roots. I want to rediscover that person I was when I moved to the city two years ago, so full of adventure and I want to be her again. I want to get out of my comfort zone and I want to say yes to new people and new experiences. 2019 will be the year for discovering more about me and my creative side and not being afraid to push myself and those limits.
I'm reflecting on the year and sharing some things I've learned, as well as my revamped goals for 2019. Life isn’t "Insta-Perfect" and it's definitely okay to not have things together or have any idea what the future will hold. I’m hoping 2019 is full of second chances, fulfilled potential and exploring life outside my comfort zone (but not too far).
LESSONS FROM 2018
ALL THINGS ARE TEMPORARY (TIME, MONEY, PEOPLE, THIS SITUATION YOU'RE IN, EVERYTHING).
YOU CANT CHANGE PEOPLE, BUT YOU CAN CHANGE THE SITUATION.
CHERISH EACH MOMENT. YOU'LL NEVER GET TO LIVE IT AGAIN.
GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME. BE PATIENT.
WORRYING/STRESSING ABOUT SOMETHING OUTSIDE YOUR CONTROL IS DOING NO GOOD. IF YOU CANT THINK OF A SOLUTION, LET GO, LET GOD.
YOU DON'T NEED ANYONE TO COMPLETE YOU. YOU COMPLETE YOU.
IT CAN ALWAYS BE WORSE. WE ARE REALLY BLESSED.
TRY TO REMEMBER LIFE IS NOT A COMPETITION. EVERYONE HAS A DIFFERENT PLAN FOR THEIR LIFE AND THERE IS NO COMPARISON. (NOBODIES LIFE IS PERFECT ALL THE TIME. LIFE'S FULL OF HIGH'S AND LOWS AND EVERYONE EXPERIENCES THEM, WETHER THEY SHOW IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA OR NOT.)
LEARN HOW TO BALANCE LIFE AND WORK, INCLUDING DISCONNECTING AND TAKING TIME AWAY FROM SOCIAL MEDIA.
GET INTO A HEALTHIER ROUTINE ( NO PHONE BY BED, MEDITATE, TAKE OFF MAKEUP EVERYDAY, LOTION AFTER SHOWER ETC)
DECLUTTER MY LIFE BOTH MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY (DOWNSIZE, DONATE WHAT I DON'T USE)
TAKE A HEALTHIER APPROACH TO SITUATIONS
RECONNECT AND STRENGTHEN RELATIONSHIPS WITH FRIENDS
